Balancing Motherhood, My Career, and Learning: My Experience with the CIPD Level 5 Course

LinkedIn

Embarking on the CIPD Level 5 People Management course has been both an exciting and challenging journey for me. I have always considered myself a “people person.” Whether in my personal life or professional career, I’ve naturally gravitated toward supporting others, understanding their needs, and finding ways to help. This natural interest in people and their development sparked my passion for human resources and ultimately led me to pursue this course.

My decision to enrol in the CIPD Level 5 course wasn’t taken lightly. Juggling a full-time job and being a mother of two, time is a precious commodity. Finding time to study and absorb the material has been one of the most difficult aspects of this journey. However, I believe in pushing myself, even when things get tough. My goal is to succeed and grow my skills in people management, as I am passionate about improving the employee experience.

The course itself has proven to be incredibly informative. It’s designed to deepen our understanding of core people practice principles. The modules cover a wide range of topics, from employee relations and managing performance to recruitment, retention, and organisational change. I’ve found the course content to be relevant and applicable to my current work, which makes the learning feel even more valuable.

Of course, managing everything is a balancing act. Some days feel overwhelming, especially when deadlines at work pile up or when my children need extra attention, but I remind myself why I started this journey. The desire to develop as a professional, along with supporting others in their growth, keeps me motivated. I’ve learned that it’s not about being perfect or having everything figured out all at once. The key is persistence. Whether it’s carving out time late at night to read or listening to course materials while doing household tasks, every bit of effort is a step closer to achieving my goal.

This journey is challenging, but it’s one I’m grateful for. I’m eager to continue learning and growing. As a mum, I’m proud to show my children the value of perseverance and personal growth.

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Managementors for providing me with the opportunity to undertake the CIPD Level 5 People Management course. Your support is greatly appreciated.
