Last month, three members of our team took on the Reading Green Park Half Marathon, combining personal challenge with a shared purpose: raising money for Breast Cancer UK and Prostate Cancer UK.
Representing Managementors on the start line were Joe Gale, Jordan Baker, and Fin Macdonald, supported by various employees and friends, who provided a much-needed boost at key moments during the race.
The event itself offered a memorable finish, with runners crossing the line inside the Reading F.C. stadium, a fitting end to a challenging and rewarding day.
Each runner came into the race with a different goal and a different story.
- Joe Gale took on his first-ever race, stepping outside his usual world of powerlifting. Swapping barbells for running shoes, Joe set himself a target of finishing under 2 hours 30 minutes and delivered, crossing the line in an impressive 2:28:30.
- Jordan Baker, an experienced ultra-marathon runner with a 100-mile race on the horizon, took on the role of pacer. Running alongside Joe, Jordan helped guide him to his target time, demonstrating both endurance and teamwork.
- Fin Macdonald entered his second half marathon aiming for a personal best. However, injury limited training in the lead-up to the race. Despite this setback, Fin completed the course in a strong 1:32:41, using the race as preparation for the upcoming Brighton Marathon in April.
Beyond the personal achievements, the team ran to support two important charities: Breast Cancer UK and Prostate Cancer UK, our chosen supported charities for the year.
