Driving Sustainability Together: Introducing Our Green Working Group Initiative

LinkedIn

Sustainability is more than a commitment, it’s a shared responsibility. As part of our ongoing ISO 14001 accreditation, we’re proud to launch a new initiative designed to bring colleagues across the business together in support of greener ways of working.

This year marks the introduction of our annual Green Champions Award, which will be presented for the first time at our Winter Conference 2026. This award recognises the teams and individuals who go above and beyond to make environmentally conscious choices in their day-to-day work, demonstrating that small actions can collectively make a big impact.

To encourage widespread participation, employees will be grouped according to their current projects, analyses, or internal roles. These teams will collaborate throughout the year, embedding sustainability into their routines and contributing to a culture of environmental responsibility across the organisation.

A variety of challenges and competitions will run during the year to keep momentum high. The first of these focuses on promoting sustainable travel, with teams competing to achieve the highest car-sharing mileage each quarter. Alongside this, the Green Working Group will assess both quantitative and qualitative measures, including travel choices such as car sharing and rail use, as well as wider environmental initiatives introduced by teams.

Participants are encouraged to log their green actions, ensuring that all efforts, big or small, are recognised and contribute to the overall success of the initiative.

By empowering our people to take part, we aim to make sustainability an integral part of how we operate every day. The Green Champions initiative is not just about recognition, it’s about fostering innovation, collaboration, and meaningful progress towards our environmental goals.

We look forward to seeing the creativity and commitment of our teams as we work together to build a more sustainable future.
