Exploring the Future of Space & Defence: Insights from Space Comm-Expo 2025

A few members of our team recently attended Space Comm-Expo at Excel, London. Here’s what one of our Business Development Execs, Joanna, had to share about the day:

“Since joining Managementors, I have loved immersing myself in my focus sectors and Defence has always been one that has really interested me. To further explore my interest, I was keen to attend Space Comm, as the UK’s largest industry event for the space community, covering Defence as well.

The event had plenty of headline sponsors such as Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, Telespazio (Thales & Leonardo company), and Siemens, enabling visitors from all sectors of the space eco-system to network and learn.

Conducting my research prior, I was particularly interested in attending the Women Leading the Future of Space and Defence talk as it was the perfect opportunity to network and hear some industry insights from key speakers that I admire.

This session was lead by Elizabeth Seward, Head of Space Strategy and Future Business of BAE System, alongside Dr Maganne Christian, a reserved astronaut, Aarti Holla Maini, a Director and Caroline Cooper, Command Warrant Officer. The inspirational group of women gave a talk that really resonated with me, around seizing opportunities that arise in life, remembering to always believe in yourself and the importance of inclusion and diversity within the industry, rounded off by a quote that stuck with me – ‘women hold up half the sky’.

Throughout the day I also witnessed a large client’s robotics demo and spoke to them in particular about their project management for space operations – a continuation for them from Infrastructure and Nuclear. It was very insightful to better understand their world and how they manage their time, depending on contracts!”

She’s played a key role in driving successful client engagements, leading high-performing teams, and delivering operational excellence. In her new role as Senior Delivery Director, Emma will take on greater responsibilities in overseeing project delivery, enhancing service quality, and managing our Delivery Directors.

“I’m incredibly proud and thankful for the vote of confidence from the business in moving me into this new role, something I wouldn’t be ready to do without all the support I’ve received along the way to enable me to get here. This new role gives the opportunity to further improve our ways of working, drive greater benefit for our clients,  and improve the service we offer them and the results we achieve in partnership with them. I’m very excited to continue working with the other Delivery Directors to achieve these aims” Emma commented.
