Going the extra 54 holes for charity!

Recently, four members of the Managementors team took on three rounds of golf in a single day, raising a fantastic £815 for Prostate Cancer UK and Breast Cancer UK.

One of our golfers, Elliott reflects –

“We teed off at 6:30am, with the last putt finally dropping just before 7pm. That’s twelve and a half hours at Pype Hayes in Birmingham, who were fantastic hosts and gave us the run of the course from first light.

The first round was the good one. Everyone was fresh, the swings were relatively smooth, and the scores suggested we might actually be decent golfers. By the third round, not so much.

Although, somehow, the team competition had only got more intense. There were putts out there that mattered enormously to us,  and to absolutely nobody else on earth.

We lost a lot of balls. We also lost a club. But what made the day was the group.

Four people who spend most of their working lives in meetings and on calls, out on a course together with a proper reason to be there. You learn a bit about someone when they’re on hole 47 and still putting in their all for the team scramble.

There was plenty of tiredness, a fair amount of questionable golf and, by the end, a strong desire to sit down. But there was also plenty of laughter, teamwork and a shared sense that the long day was worth it.

Thank you to everyone who donated and helped us reach £815! Every pound goes to two charities doing important work in prevention, research and support.”
